As we celebrate 25 years of serving Michigan families we take this opportunity to thank all of you for making dreams come true for children stricken with life threatening illnesses. Certainly you know it just wouldn’t be possible without you!
The Rainbow Connection has granted over 2000 wishes since that first wish on July 27, 1985 when 14 year old John Bowden had the thrill of shadow boxing with Mohamed Ali at Children’s Hospital. From something as simple as a new computer to as difficult as setting a visit with the President of the United States at the White House, to the most requested wish of all, a trip to Disney World, The Rainbow Connection is proud to share that it has never turned a child away. The Rainbow Connection also provides support services, information and referral, college scholarships, special holiday get-togethers and picnics and, perhaps most important of all, a listening ear to our wish families.
We invite you to come celebrate with us throughout 2010. Do you have a special Rainbow Connection story to share? Email mgmccarter@rainbowconnection.org and we will include your story in our “25 Years Over the Rainbow” memorial publication. Check out our website for opportunities to celebrate with us. Be it our Rock and Roll Bowling in March, the 31st Dobson Open in July, Dream Cruise in August or our 8th Annual Walk for Kids on September 11, we promise you an experience you will never forget!

The Rainbow Connection is creating a 25th Anniversary Commemorative Cookbook featuring favorite recipes from wish families and all of you who have shared your time, talent and treasures to make dreams come true for Michigan children.
“Our Best Dishes for Wishes” Cookbook will also contain special pages of interest about the history & mission of The Rainbow Connection. Cookbooks will be sold for $10 each.
Recipes are due by Wednesday February 10, 2010.
